FORMATION of the SMALL CORPS ALLIANCE
Recent events have left many Small Corporations feeling vulnerable and concerned for the future. Angel, Sansha and Gurrista Pirates have historically been our enemies and are common place throughout space. Over the years we have learnt to deal with them, but in recent weeks alarming events have taken place further jeopardising our business interests.
We have seen Pirate Corporations forming with the sole purpose of blockading key routes to and from the precious ores that can be found outside of Empire Space. Small Corps have found themselves sidelined, forced to watch from a distance as the Mega Corps muster their private armies to take the pirates head on. This has sent the market into turmoil with prices of megacyte rising alarmingly and with small-time builders already under pressure from numerous competitors, they are left with little or no choice but to sell their products at next to no profit.
Worse still, one and two man pilot Corporations are now affording heavy cruisers and even Battleships themselves. It can only be surmised that after watching the Galactic news broadcasting stories of infamous Pirate gangs such as the Moo, Sinister and the Red Corsairs flourish, they are entering .4 and under security systems and trying their own luck at this most villainous trade against hapless miners and traders full in the knowledge Concorde will not stop them.
In the last few days we have seen new technologies appear on the market at prices so high that they are beyond the reach of most apart from the mega corps. Small mining firms are worried their humble tools will become obsolete when the Mega corps instruct their Battleships equipped with these new technologies, to enter the secure Systems and proceed to decimate entire belts in a matter of hours.
It is against this backdrop small corporations which were rivals at best only weeks ago, have began to be put aside their differences and secretly forge an Alliance to ward against these common foes.
The 'Small Corporation Alliance' was formed earlier today. Its purpose is to promote trade and protect its members through a mutual trade and security pact. A Pirate attacking one member immediately becomes the enemy of all its members and they will find no refuge. In the future itĘs our fervent hope when Galactic shaping events take place our combined strength will ensure itĘs not only the Mega Corps and Pirates gangs that are able to react and take advantage of any situations that may arise from it.
We look to other Small Corporations and hope as they hear of this new Alliance, will see its potential benefits and join us.
We will not attempt to seize control of a specific Region, block it off and force others to leave or comply with our demands. It is our hope in the future that wherever our members travel a friend and ally wont be too far away if the need arises.
We have families to feed, employees to pay and companies to run, without our taxes the Empires will collapse. It is time for us to rise up and our cries to be heard. "Enough is enough; we will no longer be ignored. From this day forth let us stand united against our common enemies. They are big yet together we are bigger, they are rich yet together we are richer and they are strong yet together we are stronger. Let us match their cruelty and wanton desire for destruction with an iron will and a terrifying justice."
The Alliances purpose is to promote trade and prosperity, provide security and encourage strong relations between Corporations through the formation and realisation of common goals whilst maintaining each MemberĘs independence
